Tulsa, OK - PACCAR Winch General Manager Brennan Gourdie delivered the annual check towards a $500,000 donation to the Gilcrease Museum’s Helmerich Center for American Research.
PACCAR’s contributions have already been used to complete a research and distance learning classroom, the PACCAR Education Center Classroom, and continue to fund research and preservation of the museums rare books, documents, maps and unpublished works.
“We’re pleased to see the PACCAR Classroom serving as a gathering place for area citizens and the educational community as a whole,” says Gourdie, “Gilcrease Museum is a great resource and a national treasure.”
Gilcrease Director of Development Frank Mulhern says that the Helmerich Center has also allowed Gilcrease to host several research symposiums and preserve items from their archive for present and future exhibits. Housed within the main building, the PACCAR Classroom is equipped for long distance learning; allowing students, educators and citizens a way to connect and share history, art and culture.
Funds for the donation were offered by the PACCAR Foundation. The PACCAR Foundation is a private organization formed in 1951. The Foundation is dedicated to funding education, social services and the arts. The organization has provided $160 million to enrich the communities in which its employees live and work.
